The fight against hunger and malnutrition around the world: a few concrete examples
UNAC-Greater Montréal is pleased to invite you to the lecture “The fight against hunger and malnutrition around the world: a few concrete examples” given by Dr Hélène Delisle, professor of International nutrition at the Department of Nutrition of Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal
A significant part of the world population suffers from starvation, hunger and malnutrition. In September 2000, at the UN General Assembly, Heads of States and Governments adopted a declaration to eradicate extreme poverty in the world and to improve the living conditions in less favoured regions of the world. Three of the eight Millennium Development Goals are related to nutrition: the fight against hunger, the effort to reduce child mortality and the undertaking to improve maternal health. To explain the initiatives now underway in the field of scientific research, DrHélène Delisle, will present the projects that she is currently supervising in Francophone Africa and Haïti.
