Lecture on the role of the United Nations in the Great Lake Region of Africa
Given by Mrs Anne Leahy, Ambassador of Canada in that Region from 2004 to 2007
UNAC-Greater Montreal is pleased to announce you a Conference on the role of the United Nations in the Great Lakes Region of Africa, given by the Ambassador of Canada in that region from 2004 to 2007, Mrs Anne Leahy. The conference will focus on the diplomatic process and other forums of intervention of various UN components in the area of the Great Lakes Region of Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, its nine neighbors and Kenya.
Special adviser to the Deputy Minister of the Department for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Leahy, diplomat of career, economist graduate of Queens University, was ambassador in Cameroun (and in Chad and in Central Africa), in Poland and Russia. She is on the “Board of Trustees of the Queen University” and on the board of directors of the Canadian Foundation of the museum of the Hermitage (Saint-Petersborg). First Director of the Institut d’études internationales de Montréal at UQAM, from 2002 to 2004, she received the Great Price “Advancement of Woman” of the Foundation of the YWCA of the Women of Montreal in May 2004.
The lecture will be in French. Mrs Leahy will answer questions in both English and French.
